About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service, an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional, antique Edwardian four piece sterling silver tea and coffee service consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug and sugar basket. Each piece of this fine silver tea set has an oval rounded form, all in the Queen Anne style. The upper rim of each piece is ornamented with an applied moulded border. Both the coffee pot and teapot are fitted with hinged hallmarked domed covers surmounted by the original carved painted wood and sterling silver topped pineapple finials. The silver teapot and coffee pot retain the original carved painted wood handles, featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The cream jug is fitted with an elongated C shaped silver handle and the sugar basket a swing handle, each ornamented with reed decoration.
