Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. It has its original wiring & socket and no outstanding flaws that we have detected. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970’s.

Lawrence Peabody was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1924. He trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, and he earned a Bachelor of Art degree in 1950 then went on to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1955 he started his own design firm called Lawrence Peabody and Associates in Boston, Massachusetts where his clients included Richardson Brothers, Kohler, Sears & Roebuck, and Boyd Lighting. He assisted in designing several hotels in the United States and the Caribbean. He purchased a home in Haiti in the 1960’s where he and his family would live for six months out of the year. It is where he befriended DeWitt Peters, the founder of Le Centre D'Art, which helped promote interest in Haitian art & craft giving opportunity to hundreds of local artists, many of whom were once impoverished. Mr. Peabody served as Director of Le Centre D’Art. He incorporated Haitian art in his designs and helped bring a collection of one-of-a-kind furniture made by Haitian craftsmen to the United States. Most of his recognized furniture designs were manufactured by Richard Nemschoff...
