Vesta Postmodern Glass Sconce Pair for VeArt by Ernesto Gismondi C 1990
By Ernesto Gismondi, VeArt, Artemide
Located in Brooklyn, NY
A rare pair of postmodern Italian wall sconces, the Vesta model was designed by Ernesto Gismondi for VeArt around 1990, capturing the bold experimentation of late 20th-century Italian lighting design. These striking fixtures combine mixed materials, featuring a clear and frosted Murano glass shade, elegantly held by a sculptural steel and brass bracket. The contrast between the delicate hand-blown glass and the industrial strength of metal creates a dynamic interplay of light and form. Designed for both aesthetic appeal and functionality, the sconces are wall-mounted with an integrated E27 socket, ensuring compatibility with European and US wiring standards. VeArt, founded in 1965 by Sergio Billiotti and Ludovico Diaz De Santillana, was a key innovator in Venetian glass lighting...
