About the Item

Sleek and Versatile, this pair of wall lamps by Gerald Thurston that provides elegant lighting with a sophisticated approach to wall sconce illumination. 17.5" tall, 14" deep and 8" wide. Shade includes brass top 13" tall x 8" diameter. Each shade features a three-armed aperture connected within the mouth of each shade with brass nuts and floats a perforated metal cylinder that diffuses the light. The shades have a factory finished black lining to the interior mouth to prevent glare. Each shade hangs from a brass arms which swivels left or right, and the shades can drop down up to 13", but this can increase by moving the nut that is beneath the weight to several feet. The rayon cord is new and the wiring is perfect. This rayon provides enough tension so that wherever the shade is lowered to; it holds its position. Each shade has it's own on/off switch atop but options are there to have an on/off installed on the cord; and also it is possible to loop the power cord up and have the wiring go through the wall behind the mounting plate. Note the mounting plate also has a double brass bearing housing which is a step above the normal single pivot mechanism seen on most models. All hardware required for mounting is provided and everything all original. Extensive restoration performed and is excellent. Originally the wire was tied in a knot below the weight to prevent it from dropping but we added a brass nut instead keeping with the elegance of the piece. The pulley cord beyond the weight is 6 feet long. Perfect for dining room, credenza or living room illumination especially above a horizontal surface. Takes standard bulbs.
