Pair of Paul Frankl for Johnson Furniture and John Stuart Mahogany Nightstands

About the Item

Designed in the 1950s by the iconic designer of the Skyscraper bookcases and Pretzel sofa Paul Frankl, this pair of nightstands was made for retail by John Stuart in the heart of New York City. Made of dark laquered mahogany and simplistic cross-shaped door pulls, these feature two drawers each and a top shelf that unfolds, reveaing a large interior space for storage. The dark laquer and bright brass make for a look that stands out in any modern bedroom despite their modest design. Condition is good. Minor signs of use, fully functional and smooth door and drawer mechanisms. Will have a light restoration done upon purchase which preserves the original stain and laquer finish. The updated finish will include touch-ups as needed and a newly applied satin laquer finish that is hand-burnished with wax. Please inquire for other options and cost.
