George III Ebonized Eight-Day Twin Fusee Table Clock by O. Hamley

A lovely late George III single pad ebonized eight-day, twin fusee table clock with original verge escapement and rack striking by O. Hamley, circa 1800-1815.
The moulded single pad ebonized domed top case with original carrying handle is raised on all four of its original ogee bracket feet onto a detailed base moulding. Gilt-brass sound frets adorn the sides and front in a 'fish scale' pattern backed with bright burgundy silk.
The enameled white dial displays Roman numerals, minute and quarter-hour markers housed inside a gilt-brass bezel and domed glass, signed Hamley, Warwick Place, London.
The clock features a strike/silent switch on the front dial and a repeat to the right-hand-side. The backplate has border engraving and a short pendulum.

This George III giltwood mirror has a rectangular glass plate below a shaped cornice with a central coat of arms for Admiral Lord Nelson (1758-1805) flanked by foliate tendrils on a painted black ground. The sides consist of paired tied-reed columns with palm frond capitals enclosing similar black painted panels of fruiting vine tendrils rising from classical vases. English, circa 1805.

This exceptional antique George III sterling silver salad server fork has been crafted in the Old English pattern.
The serving fork has six tines with a plain rounded drop.
The anterior surface of the handle is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved initials crest of a bear muzzled.
The reverse surface of this sterling silver serving fork incorporates a pip to the terminal, in addition to a rounded heel to the bowl/drop.
This exceptional example of Georgian silverware was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths William Eley, William Fearn & William Chawner.

In 1801, Gillows of London and Lancaster supplied a closely related pair of bookcases to Luke Dillon, 2nd Lord Clonbrock to furnish his new library at his ancestral home, Clonbrock in Co. Galway.
