Georgian English Sterling Silver Salad Serving Fork

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Georgian sterling silver Old English pattern salad serving fork; an addition to our silver flatware collection. This exceptional antique George III sterling silver salad server fork has been crafted in the Old English pattern. The serving fork has six tines with a plain rounded drop. The anterior surface of the handle is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved initials crest of a bear muzzled. The reverse surface of this sterling silver serving fork incorporates a pip to the terminal, in addition to a rounded heel to the bowl/drop. This exceptional example of Georgian silverware was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths William Eley, William Fearn & William Chawner. Condition This antique sterling silver serving fork is an exceptional gauge of silver and exceptional quality for its type. The fork is in excellent presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the fork are very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.     A magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver serving dish with cover made by Robert Garrard II; an addition to dining silverware collection This magnificent antique Victorian sterling silver dish has a rounded hexagonal form. The body of the serving dish is plain and embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of on a cap of maintenance turned up a lion passant*. The plain body is encompassed with a cast and applied rosette border to the rim, accented with a leaf decorated corner pieces. The dish is fitted with an impressive domed hexagonal cover, embellished with chased interlacing foliate and trellis designs, all on a matte background to the rounded sides. The upper portion of the domed cover is ornamented with further chased foliate decoration, accented with a paralleling scalloped border.
