Mid 19th Century French Regency Style Hand Carved Beechwood Armchairs, Velvet

About the Item

This pair of mid-nineteenth century French Regency style beechwood armchairs features hand carved details of symmetrical shells, acanthus leaves and flowers at the top of the seat backs. Curved armrests are additionally detailed with acanthus leaves. The seats rest on four cabriolet legs finished with escargot feet. The seat backs and armrests are all upholstered in red velvet and finished with nail head trim. c. 1860.
