Pair De Carli Armchairs, Rare 1940's Design

About the Item

These chairs with armrests were designed by Carlo de Carli in the 40's, which makes them very rare. The upholstery is with high-quality velvet by DEDAR MILANO is completely new. The chairs have a wooden construction, the legs of the chairs are made from walnut. Carlo De Carli (Milan, November 7, 1910 - Milan, March 3, 1999) was an Italian architect, designer, essayist and academic, one of the protagonists of modern architecture, industrial design, and their teaching. After classical studies and a degree in Architecture, he worked for a year in Gio Ponti's studio, whom he succeeded in 1962 at the Milan Polytechnic in the chair of Interior Architecture, Furniture and Decoration. He realized most of his works of architecture, staging and design from the post-war period to the early seventies. His work as a designer closely linked to a theoretical thought, puts the person at the center of the project, privileges the process of formation of spaces and objects rather than their being and opens to their mutual relationships. It is a constant research that urges him to create new forms contributing to the renewal of taste and trends in architecture and Italian design.
