Set of 6 “Model 193” Dining Chairs by Inger Klingenberg, Denmark 1960s
Located in Utrecht, NL
This fantastic set of 6 teak dining chairs in the Danish Modern style was designed by Inger Klingenberg for France and Son. The chairs feature a striking sculptural design and solid teak construction. The standout characteristic of these chairs are the curved backrests that are echoed by the unusual curved seats. The seats of the chairs are designed and mounted in such a way that they appear to be floating on the base. The rare shape of the seat was designed with the human body in mind, therefore the chairs are very ergonomic. The solid wood frame is refined and simple, letting the upholstered seat to stand out visually. The Danish furniture maker France & Son was one of the most famous furniture companies in Denmark, and collaborated with the leading Scandinavian designers of the time. This progressive, high-end set of the famous “Model 193...

Eight Restored Kai Kristiansen Teak Dining Chairs Custom Reupholstery Included
Located in Knebel, DK
Kai Kristiansen set of eight fully restored teak dining chairs by Schou Andersens Møbel Fabrik including custom upholstery. The A-frame model 31 dining chairs were designed by Kai Kristiansen in 1956 for Schou-Andersens Møbelfabrik and the A-frame chair is one of the most well-known chairs designed by Kai Kristiansen - a true Classic with its modest appearence but advanced design with curved backrest, crooked angles, straight yet at the same time curved and bended lines... and on top of that as all of Kai Kristiansens chairs very comfortable in use. The chairs have been fully restored by our skilled cabinetmakers - all joints checked and reglued if needed which it often is, frames sanded by hand 2 - 3 times and waxed to bring out the natural warm glow in the teak wood in order to insure that they are in very good condition with only minimal signs of age and use. The chairs will be reupholstered with out additional cost in fabric of your choice from a wide list of "Kvadrat" or "Romo" fabrics or standard leathers from "Sorensen Leather" / "Camo Leather" before they are shipped. Kai Kristiansen who is still alive was born in 1929 and raised in Thy, North Denmark. Originally a carpenter, Kristiansen was educated as a building architect at the Royal Academi of Arts in Copenhagen and graduated from here in 1954. His father was the propritetor of at furniture production company, so his interest in furniture was founded early. Kristiansen was one of the last pupils of the famous architect Kaare Klint who died in 1959 and is considered the founder of modern Danish design. During the years 1958-1978 Kristiansen worked in his business in Aarhus owned jointly by himself and designer and cabinetmaker Illum Wikkelsø (1919-1999). Kristiansens works met their most intense demand during a few decades from 1950, then production of them was discontinued. However, several of the are now being produced again by the Japanese furniture producer Miyazaki Chair Mill in Tokushima. An Australien producer has also included Kristiansen production in their portfolio. Kai Kristiansen might have been the originator of mass produced furniture, had he accepted an offer from Ikea-founder Ingvar Kamprad. He declined to let himself enroll in the Ikea staff. Kristiansen exhibitions include numerous participations in furniture and design shows in Milano, Paris, Cologne and London. Among his most cherished works is the Paper Knife collection...

Set of 3 Hans Wegner Chairs
Located in Amsterdam, NL
Set of 3 (not two!) CH30 dining chairs by Hans Wegner in Oak and Teak and red upholstery. This 1954 design is one of the outcomes of Wegner's ongoing search for the ideal chair. The curved organic shapes and the refined details make this chair a classic Wegner. He mainly worked with wood, making optimal use of the possibilities of the material. The shapes of the CH30 Chair create a minimalist, elegant interplay of lines. The oval-shaped backrest slopes slightly backwards and offers good support for the back. The shape of the hind legs slopes backwards and thus ensures optimum stability. The seat of the chair is relatively wide and covered with red fabric stretched over a comfortable foam. The CH30P...
