Massimo Ghini sofa for Moroso

About the Item

Timeless sofa by Massimo Ghini. One of the pioneers of the artistic movement known as Bolidism, Massimo Iosa Ghini was inspired by the future avant-garde designs of chairs that prioritized movement over rest when he founded the movement in the 1980s with a group of young Italian architects. His compositions are fluid and dynamic, the physical embodiment of the ideas that underpin Bolidist philosophy. Movement, light, action—a modern interpretation of speed, of the transition from a mechanical to an electronic and digital civilization, of simultaneous communication and symbolism—rather than a nod to the avant-garde of the past. Bolidists believe that the future is not only more interesting than the past, but also equal to the past because it is not yet here. Produced with leather and steal in the 80’s.
