About the Item

Geoffrey Harcourt, UK (designer) Artifort, The Netherlands (manufacturer) Chair 130 - 'RCA' Chair - designed 1960 Curved, veneered plywood, cast aluminium swivel base. Geoffrey Harcourt worked on furniture designs for Artifort alongside Pierre Paulin and Kho Liang le. This was one of his first designs to be produced by Artifort. Originally designed by Harcourt in 1960 whilst studying at the Royal College of Art in London, this chair was produced by Artifort from circa 1965 as part of the 130 series of office chairs. This is a good, early example of this stunning and unique design. It looks fantastic at a desk, or as a sculptural side-chair. Condition: Overall good solid condition. No notable structural damage. Some knocks and slight flaking of the plywood in a few places at edges. Various other light signs of wear in accordance with age.
