About the Item

This is a very special cabinet by Gustav Stickley from the early 1900s. This wonderful wardrobe is in pristine condition. With great selection of quarter sawn oak. Made in 1916. Marked with a decal. This is made from mostly (if not all) solid oak. Has original hammered iron hardware. We have had several similar pieces this year, but this is the "best of the best." WE HAVE OVER 5000 ANTIQUE STICKLEY FURNITURE and MANY OTHER ARTS AND CRAFTS and WE WILL LIST ON 1stDIBS, we do not deal with flea market furniture or items. Please note: Most "Stickley" items online are reproductions, or outright fakes. In the 1970s, a man named Alfred Audi approached the widow of Leo Stickley before she passed. He purchased the brand name "L&JG Stickley" and opened a factory near Syracuse, NY. He manufactured furniture "In The Style" of the original Stickley. Gustav Stickley was a great artist. All of the furniture he made was "Through Tenon" & Pinned. This is why furniture from 120 years ago still looks brand new. Reproduction furniture uses glue to "fool" buyers that it is "Through Tenon" construction. In the last 50 years or so, many Gustav Stickley and L&JG Stickley pieces have sold for $100,000 or more. They are true collectibles, but need to be in perfect shape and "untouched" condition. This is what makes them investment pieces. WE WILL OFFER EXTRA OFF IN THE NEXT FOUR WEEKS. BTW - We have over 5,000 pieces of Real Stickley furniture. We buy predominately from collections in New York and Pennsylvania. We buy only the best. We pay a little more than other dealers, but we get only the very best. We don't deal with "problem" furniture.
