19th Century French Shepherds and Sheep Oil on Canvas Painting in Gilt Frame

About the Item

This large antique oil on canvas was painted in France, circa 1850. This colorful painting illustrates a pastoral country scene with a shepherd courting a young girl, while attending his sheep. The two figures are set in a countryside landscape, and are dressed in traditional clothing. The piece is set in the original carved gilt frame. The artwork is in excellent condition with rich, neutral colors. Measures: 32" W x 38" H.
