More information coming soon… A beautiful Dutch painting, signed “H J vd Weele” (Herman J Van Der Weele), depicting a pair of horses huddled beneath two trees with a sparse canopy of brown leaves. The horses are attached to a cart, which has stopped in the middle of a muddy, undulating road next to a river. Two gentleman behind the cart are removing felled limbs from the pathway. Presented in a thick giltwood frame adorned with lozenge-patterned ground beneath foliate carvings.
