This is an oil painting on canvas from the early 1900s.
The 20th-century painting is signed at lower left Léon Galand and dated 1927.
Léon Laurent Galand (1872-1960) was born in Montpellier, France in 1872 and died in 1960 in Clichy-la-Garenne.
During his career he exhibited regularly in Paris in the Salon des Artistes Français, many are the awards
and medals including a gold one in the early twentieth century.
Many of the painter's works are preserved in the Montpellier Museum.
The sea painting category to which the oil painting belongs carries an original carved and lacquered wood frame from the 1900s era.
The frame and antique oil painting are carefully and professionally restored.
