La categoria dipinti antichi, Quadri Mare, qui proposto è una pittura a olio su tela,
della fine del XIX o inizi del XX secolo.
Si tratta di un quadro antico, che rappresenta un paesaggio Marino,
un tratto di costa rocciosa in Costa Azzurra,
località Bandol, dove ci sono spiagge bellissime, come scrive il pittore sul retro della tela del dipinto.
L’opera è una pittura a olio che porta una cornice, originale e coeva al quadro antico.
Si tratta di quadri su tela, firmata in basso a sinistra Louis Haas, pittore francese orientalista.
Louis Haas (1870-1923) nasce in Algeria ma poi si trasferisce a Parigi nel 1891.
Lavora nell' atelier di Auguste Alfred Rubé, Philippe Chaperon e Marcel Jambon.
Diventa alla corte austriaca, educatore artistico dei figli dell'arciduca
Luigi Salvatore d'Asburgo-Lorena. Quindi con la famiglia dell'arciduca
viaggia in Spagna, Italia, Egitto, le isole del Mediterraneo e la Turchia,
e soggiorna un anno a Venezia.
Fu allievo del pittore Louis Eugène Baille. Nel 1906 torna nella sua città natale in Algeria.
Nel 1907 espone i suoi quadri a Philippeville e in diverse città algerine,
con altri pittori orientalisti come Maxime Noiré, Léon Geille de Saint-Léger,
Gilbert Galland e Louis Randavel. Muore a Bandol (Var) nel 1923.
