About the Item
This is a painting of kanji drawn in Japan around the 20th century.
The artist's name is unknown.
It is hand-drawn.
This is 24 Japanese kanji, each of which is pronounced "kai" or "gai".
The characters are all read and pronounced the same, but each kanji has a different meaning.
For example, the character in the top right is pronounced "kai" but means to change.
The second character from the top, second from the right, is pronounced "kai" but means "sea".
The character on the bottom left is also pronounced "kai" but means "bosom".
The character from the bottom, second from the right, first from the bottom, is pronounced "gai" but means "town".
In this way, the meaning of the kanji, which cannot be grasped by the common sounds heard by the ears, can only be understood by making it into kanji and perceiving it visually.
By using the technique of painting, you can once again understand the unique culture of kanji.
This is a very interesting item.
I recommend it.
