An antique pair of Chinese export porcelain crane Sculptures, 19th century.

A wonderful, large and rare opposing pair of Chinese Export Porcelain figures modelled as red-crowned cranes (Grus japonensis), also called the Japanese crane.

They were a small part of what, at the time, was the largest cargo of Chinese porcelain ever recovered in good condition from the sea.

Each bird perched on a brown rockwork base.
