About the Item
This large and well executed original watercolor painting on masonite board is signed by a Jim Barclay, presumably from the United States, dating to 1964 and done in a period folk art style. The painting depicts President and Mrs. Dwight Eisenhower with a country farm scene in the background. We believe the painting is done with a gouache watercolor and is done on a single piece of masonite. There is tag brass tag on the front of the frame identifying the subjects as the President as his wife. The background is quite detailed and done in vibrant color tones. The painting is clearly signed and dated "Jim Barclay 1964" in the bottom right corner and the painting is framed in its original wood and gesso frame. Please note the dimensions posted below refer to the framed artwork. The actual painting measures 39 X 24 inches.
