Mid-Century French Still Life Oil Painting in Carved Frame Signed Dujardin
About the Item
Invite color and life into your home with this large antique still life painting on canvas. Set in the original carved gilt wood frame, and signed by the artist "R.N. Dujardin", the art work composition depicts a two-handled black vase filled with a massive bouquet of brightly-colored flowers, including sunflowers, poppies, forget-me-nots, and others, standing on on a green table. The technique used to create this scene is unique in that the piece is composed with very thick amounts of paint, adding texture, depth, and a life-like quality. The colorful painting is in excellent condition with rich reds, greens, pinks, yellows, and blues, posed on a dark background, set in an elegant Louis XV style frame. The artwork reminds us of the work of Marcel Dyf, a French painter known for his impressionistic landscapes, still lives and portraits.
