About Michel Jamar:
Born in Bar-le-Duc in 1911 and passed away in Nancy in 1997, Michel Jamar was a versatile artist: engraver, painter, illustrator, sculptor, and ceramist.
A student of Victor Prouvé at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy, Jamar trained in various artistic disciplines, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, and engraving.
He later specialized in wood sculpture while maintaining a pictorial style marked by sensitivity and detail. His work exemplifies both exceptional technical mastery and a deep respect for Lorraine's artistic tradition.
