Royal Delft Collectors Portrait plate vintage handpainted Dutch Delftware - earthenware Style: Baroque, Vintage, Antique, Rustic Large blue and white cabinet plate - wall plaque Depicting a Frans Hals painting very detailed and incredibel well done. Frans Hals was an artist during the 17th century Golden age period and ranks with Rembrandt and Johannes Vermeer among the most admired of all Dutch artists. Hals is known for his ability to suggest high levels of detail with just a few brushstrokes. Marked: Royal Delft and signed Stijl: Barok 17th century Origin: The Netherlands 20th century year 1978 Condition: good Diameter 16.9in - 41cm Delftware or Delft pottery is also known as Delft Blue. Delftware includes pottery objects of all descriptions such figurines, plates, vases and other ornamental forms and tiles. The start of the Delft style was around 1600. the most highly regarded period of production is about 1640–1740. Delftware continues to be produced. Arround 1640 Delft potters began using personal monograms and distinctive factory marks. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries Delftware was a major industry, exporting all over Europe
