Art Deco Inspired Cupid Corner Chair in Natural Walnut and Luxe Velvet
By Casa Botelho
Located in London, GB
Also inspired by the masculine and desirable qualities of the Roman god, cupid, the Cupid corner armchair combines a fierce, glamorous aesthetic with a luxurious material composition to match. Made from high quality walnut, brass and velvet, the Cupid corner armchair is robust, durable and timeless, just like the god who inspires it. Due to its ‘corner’ construction, there’s no need to worry about buying a left or right side. The Cupid corner Armchair will slot effortlessly into your existing living space. We recommend pairing the Cupid corner Armchair with tables from the Eros Collection to create a beautiful connection between the two gods. The result; an overall strong, masculine and seductive aesthetic. An armchair and two-seat sofa is available in the same style.
The Cupid corner chair...

Antique 1810 Attributed to Gillows Metamorphic Leather Library Armchair Steps
By Gillows of Lancaster & London
Located in West Sussex, Pulborough
We are delighted to offer for sale this large and collectable fully restored Regency circa 1810-1820 metamorphic armchair which converts into Library steps attributed to Gillows of Lancaster and London
This wonderful piece of English history has been on a journey of restoration, the frame has been washed back and French polished by a Victorian trained polisher, the leather upholstery is all new, it is Italian cattle hide, upholstered plain then hand dyed six times, antiqued and sealed, it has a lovely rich reddish brown colour to it.
This chair is larger than any other of its type you would have seen, it is an important and extremely expensive looking thing that commands attention in any setting. You can see the same model made by Gillows currently viewed in the Victorian & Albert Museum, below is an extra from their listing.
The period 1800-1825 was a great one for ‘patent’ or ‘metamorphic’ furniture This chair, which transforms into a short set of steps for use with bookshelves, is close to a design for a ‘Library Chair’ published in Rudolph Ackermann’s Repository of the Arts in July 1811, which was made by the London firm of Morgan and Saunders, of Catherine Street, Strand.
They were well known for their ingenious furniture, including reading chairs with writing surfaces attached and a great variety of travelling beds...

Modernist Iron Strap Garden Armchairs Pair 1980s Salterini Style Brutalist MCM
By Herbert Saiger, Mario Papperzini, Russell Woodard, Francois Carre, John Salterini
Located in London, GB
A pair of gorgeous, impressive and rare Modernist iron strap vintage armchairs in wonderful, refinished condition. Likely made in the 1980s in continental Europe, these fabulously striking, assuredly robust and yet seductively sleek armchairs will add timeless sculptural elegance and bold sophistication to any outdoor setting.
Impressively sized and reassuringly heavy, these stately armchairs are made of iron and due to their wide iron-strap seats and superbly sweeping backs are – rather surprisingly – extremely comfortable, even without a cushion! The gracefully flowing lines and over-curving back and arms are particularly stunning, and the large seats and broad backs make them the ideal statement garden chairs.
Stylistically, the armchairs have an enhanced Post-Modernist 1980s assuredess to their more dainty design predecessors by Francoise Carré and Russell Woodard. Similar to Mario Papperzini for John Salterini and Herbert Saiger for Woodard’s more muscular 1970s iron strap chair...

By Thomas Hope
Located in London, GB
A Regency Period Klismos armchair

English, circa 1815
