LA CHAIR is the first in a new series of collectible design pieces from the Rankin Rugs studio. Each chair is handcrafted-to-order in the UK by local craftsmen and available in a range of materials and customisable fabrics - a functional design piece, the chair bridges the gap between fine art, design and sculpture.

Rankin Rugs
Rankin Rugs is an award-nominated British art studio, with bases in London and Los Angeles. Founded by artist and designer Amber Rankin, the studio is known for its one-off, exclusive rugs spanning the luxury decorative art and contemporary fine art market. Amber’s pieces explore material identity and contemporary aesthetic through studies of colour and craftsmanship. Through combining fine art practice with contemporary design, Amber focuses on preserving ancient craftsmanship all the while creating functional works of art. Designed by Amber before being expertly handknotted in Bulgaria, in Europe's last remaining traditional rug workshop, all pieces are crafted on a made-to-order and exclusive basis. This ensures complete uniqueness, as well as providing clients with the option to commission tailor-made designs. The finest, locally-sourced wool and sustainable materials are intrinsic to the artist's rugs and its artisans' legacy of luxury, continually striving to preserve the expertise and innovation established hundreds of years ago.
