Jasmin Blasco (b. 1981, Paris) lives and works in Los Angeles. Blasco, whose grandfather was Pablo Picasso, is a multi-disciplinary artist who approaches time-based media as the site where sound, image, and language conspire to generate fictions. Writing  on his print,  Jasmin states: “During  my residency at Villa Lena  I chose to develop a visual  score serving as navigational blueprint  between the now and the soon-­‐to-­‐be.  The project conceptualises the creative process  as a gesture through time, where the present is  an engine of reflection informing the construction of  strategies deployed towards the future. In  time-­‐based  forms like music,  what is unknown is  “What happens next”. In  that sense, I view the musical  score as a mapping of the proximate. Visually,  I found it  important to reference  blueprints because they imply  construction at a future date.  The hand which is central in the  print was influenced by research in  early notation music systems...
