Antique Minimalist Jajim Flat-Woven Rug with Vertical Polychrome Stripes
Located in Milan, IT
A graphic tribal kilim composed of two joined panels each containing an array of polychrome vertical stripes in a variety of natural colours. The result is a wool flat-weave with a mirror image pattern. What makes this example rather unique is the richness of the individual colors, obtained from natural dyes, as well the generous width of the vertical stripes. Furthermore, the quality of the individual dyes, which include a wonderful indigo blue and a clear coral red, are indicative of an early vintage. The piece is in pristine condition. Antique White Ground Anatolian Tulu Prayer Rug
Located in Milan, IT
The overall composition of this niche design rug relates it to a group of white ground central Anatolian prayer rugs, mostly woven with more traditional motifs. The primitive nature of the drawing imparts here a cave-like appearance to the niche. The use of silky Angora mohair wool (filik in Turkish) is characteristic of the most precious Tulus. Warp: wool, ivory Weft: wool, ivory, 3-6 shots between knotted rows Knot: symmetrical, weaving direction adjacent to niche, no warp depression Knot count: 4H x 3V = 12 knots/square inch Selvages: three sets of paired warps Ends: weft-faced plain weave; top with corded fringes Colours: ivory, maroon (corrosive), light green, red, grey blue, camel, orange (7) This rug is featured in our current web exhibition entitled 'Like a Prayer...

20th Century Yellow Orange Green Black, Zeki Muran Leopard Turkey Rug circa 1960
By Zeki Müren
Located in Firenze, IT
Iconic carpet of the production designed by Zeki Muren, singer and design highly appreciated in the 1950s as well as for his talent as an artist for his eccentric style that characterized his entire production. His style and taste influenced the production of carpets produced in the city of Sparta between 1950 and 1970, but only a few are actually designs made by Muren who often gave a name to his creations and in the weaving, he entered his signature as in the carpet that we present. The yellow, orange, green and black colouring characterize this rare specimen whose name Leopard makes a clear reference to the feline fur.
