Jose Palacios, Macrogarden 17, Abstract, Mixed media on paper, 2021
By Jose Palacios
Located in New York, NY
In this original acrylic paint on paper Jose Palacios depicts "Macrogarden 07", in a pop art style. He uses vibrant green, pink and fluorescent yellow shapes to create his composition. Two cartoon like eyes peek out from behind a green brush stroke and a floating cloud is seen in the upper right hand corner. Palacios' work is characterized by it's geometry, precision of his figures and the use of a refreshing and bold palette. Jose Palacios was born in Spain in 1970. A self taught artist, he began his career in the world of comic books and illustration publications. He later transitioned to graphic design and street art. Jose was greatly influenced by the "Movida Madrileña" an explosive cultural period in the 1980's during Spain's transition from dictatorship to democracy which produced arist's such as Ceesepe, Fernando Vicente, Ana Juan, Ouka Leele and Javier de Juan.

Spacewalk
By Paulo Canilhas
Located in Brooklyn, NY
I am fascinated by the individual’s relationship within society. It is in this context that I exist. Along the beaten path, I allow myself to observe from a multitude of vantage points; towards the recent past or a future yet to occur. This is what inspires me- the creative moment yet to happen, laden with limitless possibilities. When I take a look at the past, I identify social and personal nuances and their direct influence on my work, and then with excitement look for what comes next. In this process I take distance from myself and view with a critical eye. Ever evolving, I search for more. I am neither a painter nor sculptor, much less a photographer or director, but I am a little bit of everything. I don’t feel bound to one specialized art form, and this allows me to navigate free and unencumbered by norms and expectations. My goal is not to achieve perfection in any one area, but rather to explore all disciplines- joyfully challenging myself, provoking and exploring beyond any pre-conceived limits. In my work I try to establish a connection between my reality and the reality of those who dedicate a few minutes of observation. I’m constantly searching for the vanishing point that gives diverse expression to my artistic production. This is the creative fuel that drives me ever forward. Paulo Canilhas...

"ALTAR", sculpture, clay, ceramic, abstract, contemporary, tribal, pattern, mark
By Harold Wortsman
Located in Toronto, Ontario
Altar, a ceramic sculpture of high-fired clay pigmented with oxides, is a work by New York artist Harold Wortsman. Altar was recently exhibited at "Harold Wortsman: Time and Space" at the Orange Art Foundation, February-March 2022, New York City. Note the blending of geometric and organic forms in this work – it is characteristic of his practice – warm, contemporary, uniquely crafted, yet speaks to ancient, primitive traditions of art-making that cross cultures and histories. Highly attuned to the art of Africa, the Middle East, India and Asia, his forms are organic abstracts with masculine and feminine attributes that resonate together as a pleasing enigma. They make sense immediately, yet never give up all their secrets. From Harold Wortsman – "With sculpture, my material of choice is high-fired clay. Pieces are first low-fired in an electric kiln. I do not use glazes. Instead, I use oxides applied to the bisqued (low-fired) clay. As with a tattoo, oxides permit the surface underneath to breathe. The work is then high-fired in a gas kiln with double reduction to cone 10. The final temperature is 2,300 degrees F. At a certain point, oxygen intake is reduced to the kiln. Because the fire has reached a critical mass, it needs oxygen and chemically takes it from the clay and the oxides. Like a jazz improvisation, each kiln load comes out slightly different." From Jonathan Goodman, Poet & Art Critic – "Wortsman re-examines ancient and modern traditions in light of what it means to make art." – Tussle Magazine, July 2019. Harold Wortsman is a sculptor and printmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. He “creates forms that bring to mind archaic cult objects and exude a quiet concentrated strength.” (Argauer Zeitung, Switzerland). His work, an edgy mix of freedom and clarity, can be found in public and private collections in the US, including The Library of Congress, Yale University, The New York Public Library Print Collection, The New York Historical Society, Smith College, Indiana University’s Lilly Library, Brandeis University, The Newark Public Library Special Collections Division, and the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum Print Archive. Also in private and public collections in Europe, including the Municipal Collection of the City of Brugg, Switzerland. "RED POW" Batman & the Movie Star Monoprint with painted iridescent Bat Signal
By Ceravolo
Located in Southampton, NY
Ceravolo's Mono Print with iridescent acrylic hand work is titled "RED POW" with YELLOW burst. based on his "Batman and the Movie Star" original painting on canvas. This canvas measures approx. 28x40" framed. Ceravolo has created several unique monoprints based on his "Batman and the Movie Star" painting all with different "POW" and burst colors. This one is RED POW with a Yellow burst. All of these monoprints have an iridescent painted Bat Signal in the sky hand painted by Ceravolo. One of The Hampton's most popular urban Pop artists Ceravolo's work has been exhibited alongside Warhol and Peter Max for years, his paintings are collected by Elton John, Rod Stewart, and Alice Cooper among others. He has been call the "Rock and Roll Painter" and "Painter of the Stars of Rock" by the media. This Monoprint features Batman driving his Batmobile with a sultry Movie Star sitting next to him while at the same time there is a "Bat Call" signal in the night sky signaling him that there is a need for his help in Gotham City. Along with those two distractions the gopher "G" is standing next to Batman on the side of the Bat Mobile. While this is all going on Batman is thinking...."I must concentrate on driving" Maybe this is a typical night for Batman in Gotham City. We have included in this listing an image of Ceravolo with some of his famous collectors. His paintings can be found in many influential corporate and private collections, including: ELTON JOHN, ROD STEWART, HUGH M. HEFNER, DAVID BRENNER, MONIQUE VAN VOOREN, WARNER BROS., RCA RECORDS AND SCHENLEY INDUSTRIES to name a few. Ceravolo's art came to popular attention when he was commissioned to create five large scale paintings for the lobby of The Palladium Theatre in New York City of Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Frank Zappa, Neil Young and Hall and Oates.

"FOR THE OLD ONES", sculpture, clay, abstract, contemporary, ceramic, tribal
By Harold Wortsman
Located in Toronto, Ontario
FOR THE OLD ONES, a ceramic sculpture of high-fired clay pigmented with oxides, sitting on a slab of limestone. It is a recent work by artist Harold Wortsman. Note the blending of volumetric and organic form in this work, the mark-making and perforations on the surface, the striking colors of black and copper in variable stripes – it is characteristic of his practice – warm, contemporary, uniquely crafted, yet speaks to ancient, primitive traditions of art-making that cross cultures and histories. Highly attuned to the art of Africa, the Middle East, India and Asia, his forms are organic abstracts with masculine and feminine attributes that resonate together as a pleasing enigma.
