A student of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris3, Jules Jouant was one of Auguste Rodin's practitioners. He exhibited the Bust of Prince Gedroyc at the Salon of 1883 and sculpted busts of musicians such as Richard Wagner, Frédéric Chopin or Ludwig van Beethoven.
