Servando Cabrera Moreno. b. in Havana, Cuba (1923–1981). He graduated from the San Alejandro Academy after completing studies at the Art Student’s League in NY and La Grande Chaumière in Paris. His first individual exhibition took place at the Lyceum, Havana in 1943. He has also participated in many biennials in Venice, Mexico, and São Paulo as well as other collective exhibitions. Stylistically, his paintings are rooted in the tradition of Vanguardia and are especially indebted to the work of Carlos Enríquez Gómez. Bruno Krauskopf was born on 9 May 1892 in Marienburg. From 1906 to 1908 he completed an apprenticeship as a chromolithograph in Berlin, and from 1910 he began his studies under Emil Doepler at the Royal Museum of Arts and Crafts. After the outbreak of the First World War, he did his military service from 1914 to 1916 in Alsace and in Russia. In 1916 he became a member of the "Freie Secession Berlin", where Max Beckmann and Lyonel Feininger belonged too. From 1917 to 1933 he was a member of the Berlin Secession and was also a member of the executive committee and jury.

Known for: Abstract and representational urban view painting, wallpaper design
He was a very talented painter and writer in Europe and the United States. Mitchell exhibited at such famous galleries as the Hanover Gallery in London and the Carstairs Gallery in New York City. For many years he supplemented his income as a painter by creating textile and wallpaper designs.
Mitchell's early years were spent in the company of the fashionable and famous surrounding his beautiful playwright mother, who was twice married to the great impressario Leon Leonidoff, Senior Producer of the Radio City Music Hall. His travels with them and his associations at an early age with a theatrical and literary crowd gave him a taste for the exotic.
He died suddenly in Sitges, a small town south of Barcelona, in 1988.

Faust and Marguerite
Faust is tired of his old life and wants to kill himself. In a final burst of bitter anger, he invokes the devil. The devil appears in the guise of Mephistopheles and offers him a pact: he will grant him what he desires most in the world in exchange for his servitude. Faust asks him for youth and his help in seducing Marguerite. When he achieves his goal, bound by his contract with the devil, Faust abandons the latter who is waiting for her child. Filled with remorse, he returns to her, but kills Valentin, Marguerite's brother who tries to stop him, during a duel. He then tries to save the life of Marguerite who is imprisoned for infanticide, but he fails. Like this multifaceted character, the vocal treat-ment chosen by Gounod is differentiated: sometimes very lyrical with touching flights, sometimes very cold and repetitive to evoke her detachment from the world of men.
Marguerite is young and naive. She lets herself be seduced by the charming and mysterious character of Faust and thus causes her own downfall as well as that of her family (her brother and her child will die).
