Recording Dial Clock by the International Time Recording Company
Located in Peekskill, NY
A Recording dial clock by the International Time Recording Company, Endicott, New York. In the original oak case and (the first we have ever seen) original table stand. The dial measures 30" diameter. Hight on the table is 71". When plugged in the interior light comes on and the clock motor hums. Note: From the American History Museum website: "at the end of the 1800s, early 1900s the industrial revolution was taking place and large numbers of people were taking jobs in the cities. Being punctual was the expected behavior as "time is money" attitude prevailed. Also, recording and scrutinizing expenses for labor, materials and overhead were getting more attention than ever before. By the early twentieth century the International Time Recording Company supplied an entire line of timekeeping devices, including master clocks, several types of time clocks, and time stamps. Founded in 1900, the firm continuously expanded its product line, underwent several reorganizations and name changes, and emerged in 1924 as the International Business Machine Corporation, familiar today as IBM. One of the firm's most popular products was the dial time recorder...

Antique Hand Carved Gothic Column Stand with Saint Luke, Mark & John Sculptures
Located in Lisse, NL
One of a kind and meaningful, Gothic Revival pedestal / planter / candle holder. Finding unique antiques that are unlike anything we ever saw always makes us feel grateful. When we first saw this large, entirely handcrafted and handcarved column we thought it was a church pedestal for displaying a saint sculpture on top. However, when we noticed the open top with the zinc, removable liner inside, we realized this was in fact a Gothic Revival plant stand with a possibility to also have a sculpture on display in the middle section. Thanks to the zinc liner this beautiful workmanship antique can also be used as a candle stand (as shown in some of our photos), creating a marvelous atmosphere with the burning candles behind the Gothic carvings around the hexagonal top. At the base of this unique stand are three handcarved sculptures of a winged bull (symbolizing Saint Luke...

Perfectly Hand Carved and Superb Condition Antique Gothic Revival Armchair Chair
Located in Lisse, NL
Good size and great condition Gothic, throne-like armchair. The only way for us to explain the superb condition of this stunning Gothic chair is to assume that it has always been in a church or monastery. It was there where these works of religious art were respected the most and therefor taken care of better than anywhere else. Since churches often also had more funds than most private people, they would also have the best quality pieces made and this armchair too fits that bill. The turned and leafs decorated legs and armrest supports are extremely well carved and in mint condition. The church window like pannels in the back and the sculptural leaf decor on top of the backrest are equally impressive. This kind of quality, style and beauty was already exceptional in those days and in furniture stores in this day and age, nothing new comes even close to the quality and beauty of the craftsmanship displayed in this antique chair. After more than 120 years this incredibly well carved Gothic chair...

Late Regency 19th Century Burr Oak Miniature Chest
Located in Bedfordshire, GB
A delightful Regency Period burr oak miniature chest having Superbly figured top above two short & three long drawers with Original brass knobs flanked by elegant fluted stiles raised on Original brass ball feet (Often much debate is had as to whether miniature furniture was made as an apprentice piece, which is when a craftsmen who is looking for a job at a workshop would create something to showcase their talents, or whether it was made as a travelling salesmans sample piece, which is when a few articles were made as scale models in advance of a road trip during which the salesman would travel the country showing prospective clients the kind of items they could produce back at the workshop and take orders from. This particular miniature chest of drawers is probably the latter and would have been made as a sample piece. The construction is exquisite and the attention to tiny detail phenomenal in all honesty. They work that would have gone into constructing this with all of its fine details would actually have been more of a challenge and taken a more skilled craftsmen than its full size counterparts would have done. It is also super quality and unusual being constructed from burr oak which has taken on an exceptional rich colour and patina over the years of its life. A really quite charming piece of antique miniature furniture...

Watts. William had learnt his trade with Thurston's, and set up his new business at 19 Soho Square, London. He brought with him from Thurston's all the latest innovations for billiard tables, immediately starting to produce models with rubber cushions and slate beds. Even though the natural rubber cushions would give extremes of elasticity according to temperature, and the slates where only an inch thick, this was to be the future of billiard tables, and Burroughes and Watts were at the forefront from the very beginning. They were quickly recognised as a world-class manufacturer and received a prize medal for a table entered for the Great Exhibition of 1851, with a similar award being received at the subsequent London Exhibition of 1862. In 1860 they were making a modest 150 full-sized tables a year, but by the end of this decade production had doubled. In 1869 they followed the lead of Thurston's and improved their cushions with "vulcanised" rubber, which were designed to minimise the effect of temperature variations. The business now looked for expansion away from London, and in the early 1870's they opened up branches in Dublin and Belfast. At this time most tables in Ireland were made with cast iron frames, and the wooden framed Burroughes & Watts tables proved popular with the locals. In 1873 the company secured a major contract for billiard tables to "Her Majesty's War Department and Admiralty" and around the same time received the warrant of Queen Victorian and Edward, Prince of Wales. The following year, the champion, William Cook...
