"For 26 years, I have been exhibiting, painting and living in my creative universe. I alternate 6 months of painting and 6 months of exhibiting in my gallery in L'isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Previously, I studied textile design (which is apparent in my work), cultural management and the history of art in Paris.
I began exhibiting my work in France and abroad in 1994. In 1997, I opened my first permanent exhibition space in Gordes until 2012. In 2014, I moved to L'isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
My paintings invite you to open yourself to a universe of tales, dreams and poetry...

A lovely landscape oil painting on a wooden board. This is a small but highly detailed piece. It is most certainly in the category of "photos do not do this work justice". The rolling hills lead you into the rainy clouds and it tricks the brain into thinking you can smell the wet fields. It is most wonderful to see this work in person. It brings the sense of falling through a portal or peeking through one into a different part of the world.

DOUGLAS B. SMITH Doug received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1958. He then studied for a year in the Joseph Albers program at Yale University. After working for nine years in advertising and package design, Doug joined Avon Products and served as Creative Director of Design from 1971-1996. Doug's training as a professional illustrator led him to produce realistic renditions of many everyday scenes whether they arepure landscapes, architectural elements or figures. His painting evolved into natural and plein air landscapes suitable for the New England environment where he painted for over two decades. Doug's work is housed in numerous public and private collections throughout the United States and has been exhibited at the Salmagundi Club in New York City, and the Society of Illustrators in New York City. His paintings have been exhibited across the USA in Annual National Juried Exhibitions of the Oil Painters of America. With a romanticized nod to yesteryear, Swatland's characters are innocent and fair, in an array of matching springtime and summery apparel. Adept with brush and palette knife, she blends many artistic influences and styles into her own unique presentations.
This painting features a fair-haired young girl dipping her feet in the shallow waters along a rocky shoreline. The sea behind is a brilliant blue with small white-capped waves rolling into shore. The brushwork alternates between smooth strokes in the child's form and dress and more impasto work and sharper edges on the rocks and in the more active parts of the sea. The overall effect is that of being at the sea and finding serenity in the contrast between the calm shore and the always moving ocean.
The seas' eternal inspiration form a common backdrop to many of Swatland's artistic works. Born in Washington D.C., her family moved to Greenwich, Connecticut and often summered at Tod's Point, Long Island Sound. She would go on to become an art major at Mount Saint Vincent College, study under Robert Schulz in the Art Students League of New York, and come to be represented early by Alistair Stair in his New York and Florida galleries...

The Royal Concertgebouw is a concert hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Dutch term "concertgebouw" translates into English as "concert building". Its superb acoustics place it among the finest concert halls in the world, along with Boston's Symphony Hall and the Musikverein in Vienna.
Born in 1920, Joseph Crilley began to draw and paint as a child, and went on to study at the Philadelphia College of Art, and the Graphic Sketch Club. He moved to New Hope, Pennsylvania in 1948 and has remained a resident of the area. Crilley taught art in the New Hope - Solebury schools for six years, and worked as a professional photographer for 30 years in schools and museums in the United States and Europe. And how romantic the night landscapes are. The city, illuminated by the lights, in the distance, as if beckons and calls to itself. And we suddenly clearly feel how the artist enthusiastically catches the elusive colors of the night. The cold, dark warm red color of the sky which is enhanced by hundreds of bright highlights on the snow surface attracts snow.
