About the Artist
Naoko Paluszak began her career by studying graphic design in Tokyo, followed by several years working as a designer, before switching to oil painting. Now located in the United States, Naoko continues to develop her style through different series of paintings that have varying degrees of abstraction. By bridging representational with non-representational forms, the artist seeks to stir personal memories and spark new narratives. “Art is about having a sense of mystery and drama,” she says. Naoko is also passionate about color. She mixes her paints based on the intuitive emotions that different colors can trigger within the viewer, and within herself.

Bob Peak, in my opinion, was the Norman Rockwell of post-war American Illustration, this is one of the works that paved the way for a new way of seeing. It's more fine art than commercial art. For Apocalypse Now, in 1979, Francis Ford Coppola could have hired any artist in the world to create the movie poster and image for his film. He hired Bob Peak.
Some of the movie posters Peak has worked on. West Side Story, Rollerball, Star Trek, Superman, Excalibur, Apocalypse Now, The Spy Who Loved Me. My Fair Lady, Camelot and Enter the Dragon. Additionally, Peak illustrated 45 covers of Time Magazine and many covers for Sports Illustrated, TV Guide.

Modern, large scale social commentary painting by California artist John Valdez. Comes with the original sketch as well as a book about the artist. Inspired by the cover of a Mexican tabloid, Valadez invites the viewer to examine the duality of a society that mourns the death of an iconic religious leader and neglects those close to them who are perhaps deemed not worthy of consideration.
The bold red headline reads “El cardenal Gabiri será beatificado” (Cardinal Gabiri will be beatified) above a large accompanying image of the cardinal in his casket and two smaller images, one of sobbing mourners and another of the cardinal sitting at the altar. Dividing the image is a subhead that reads, “El pueblo católico está de luto” (the Catholic people are mourning) placed above a depiction of four young boys who seem to be sniffing glue. The adjacent text reads “The indifference of the adults is the cause behind the issues these forgotten children have to live.”
This work was exhibited at the Pacific Standard Time, Long Beach Museum of Art in 2011, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in 2012, as well as the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, IL in 2013. Style : Subrata Gangopadhayay is widely considered one of India's leading painters in the modern realistic tradition. The strength of his lines and the life-like quality of his figures are features that have contributed to his enormous popularity and success. Subrata's artistic vision is informed by swirling colors, a sense of movement and a vivid array of color. The characters are in oil and acrylic canvases, come alive in all of their colorful glory. He has the skills of a virtuoso draftsman, skills that he honed during his years as the Senior Artist of the Ananda Bazar Group of publications.
Subrata's women are all of these - charming 'adorable, seductive, vulnerable...compassionate... as with great controlled skill he expresses their moods through their eyes, smile & open body language. Each canvass is an excellent blend of technique & feeling as it evokes a nostalgic mood, each element expresses and emotional involvement - such is the charm & magic of his canvasses just as overwhelming is the variety of his work done. Undoubtedly a Master painter he is also a distinguished portrait artist, who paints in a mixed style within the broad expressionist format, standing firmly on the solid technical foundation derived form his training in academic realism. Brushwork ranges form smoothly realistic to the patchy impastos of vibrant expressionist bristles.
