Endless Summer
Located in Fairfield, CT
Born in San Pedro, California in 1969, Francis DiFronzo has been painting and exhibiting his artwork in the United States for more than thirty years. "I discovered at a young age that art had the ability to transport me out of my world and into the lives of artists I admired. When I looked at paintings by Andrew Wyeth or Edward Hopper, I felt as though I was momentarily living in the worlds they created. I wanted to do the same thing. I wanted my work to have that power." After receiving his B.F.A in 1994 from California State University, Fullerton, DiFronzo moved to Philadelphia, PA where he continued his studies in drawing and painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. There he worked and learned under the guidance of artists Murray Dessner, Jan Baltzell, Sidney Goodman, Vincent Desiderio and Irving Petlin. Di Fronzo...

East Santa Cruz Landscape: Yellow Farmhouse with Storm Clouds Oil Painting
Located in Denver, CO
East Santa Cruz (California) is a striking original oil painting on canvas board by noted California artist Jon Blanchette (1908–1987). This evocative landscape features a bright yellow farmhouse set against a backdrop of dramatic dark gray storm clouds, capturing the natural beauty and emotional contrast of the California coast. Blanchette’s expert use of light and color creates a compelling sense of both tranquility and approaching tension. Painted in the mid-20th century, this work reflects Blanchette’s signature romantic realism and deep connection to the California landscape. The painting is presented in a custom frame using archival materials. Framed dimensions: 21 ¾ x 25 ¾ x 1 ½ inches, image size: 16 x 20 inches About the Artist: Born in England, Blanchette studied at the Pittsburgh Art...

Mid-20th Century Post-Impressionist Pastel Village Scene with Cypress Trees
Located in Cirencester, Gloucestershire
Title: Mid-20th Century Post-Impressionist Pastel Village Scene with Cypress Trees by Anne Marie Migette Perard (French 1902-1977) Signed: Yes Medium: Pastel on unframed paper Size: 18 inches (height) x 12.75 inches (width) Condition: As is normal with unframed works on paper there are some minor old creases or paper edge curls/ tears - all of which should be covered over or smoothed out once framed; generally very good and sound. Provenance: as with all the works we have by this artist, it has come from the artists estate in France. Description: This expressive Mid-20th Century Post-Impressionist pastel by Anne Marie Migette Perard presents a sun-soaked village scene surrounded by slender cypress trees and rustic Mediterranean architecture. The warm pastel tones—terracotta, peach, ochre, and soft pink—combine with splashes of green foliage and vibrant orange fruit to evoke a summery, southern European atmosphere. While the lower right inscription appears to read "Gzenote," the specific location remains unclear. Nevertheless, the composition strongly suggests a Provençal or Italian hill town...

"Village Green" Mary Bradish Titcomb, Bright American Impressionist Landscape
Located in New York, NY
Mary Bradish Titcomb Village Green Signed lower left Oil on canvas 24 x 20 inches A native of Windham, New Hampshire, upon graduation from high school, Titcomb studied at the Massachusetts Normal Art School, before accepting a position as a drawing teacher in the public schools of Brockton, Massachusetts, where she remained for fourteen years before resigning, in 1889, to study painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her instructors there included Edmund Charles Tarbell, Philip Leslie Hale, and Frank Weston Benson. In the 1890s she went to Paris to study with Jules Joseph Lefebvre and to travel. She then returned to Boston, taking studio space at the Harcourt Studios, where all three of her teachers kept space. In 1895 she became a member of the Copley Society and began exhibiting locally; from 1904 to 1927 she showed work in 29 exhibits at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She began signing her name as "M. Bradish Titcomb" in 1905 to avoid prejudice against her gender. The same year saw her making a sketching trip to the artists' colony at Old Lyme, Connecticut, a center for the American Impressionists; this trip seems to have cemented her interest in the style. In 1915, Titcomb's Portrait of Geraldine J. – the mother of actress Jane Russell – was shown at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and purchased by President Woodrow Wilson; another portrait, of Frank P. Sibley, was reproduced in the Boston Globe. During this period her work was shown in a traveling exhibition with that of Cecilia Beaux, Lydia Field Emmet, Jean MacLane...

"Glasco Landscape" Albert Heckman, circa 1940 New York Modernist Landscape
Located in New York, NY
Albert Heckman Glasco Landscape, circa 1940 Signed lower right Oil on canvas 25 1/4 x 39 1/2 inches Albert Heckman was born in Meadville, Western Pennsylvania, 1893. He went to New York City to try his hand at the art world in 1915 after graduating from high school and landing a job at the Meadville Post Office. In 1917, at the age of 24, Heckman enrolled part-time in Teachers' College, Columbia University's Fine Arts Department to begin his formal art education. He worked as a freelance ceramic and textile designer and occasionally as a lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the early 1920s, at the age of almost 30, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia Teachers College. He was especially impacted by his instructor at Columbia, Arthur Wesley Dow. After graduating, he was hired by the Teachers' College as a Fine Arts instructor. He stayed with Columbia Teachers' College until 1929, when he left to attend the Leipzig Institute of Graphic Arts in Leipzig, Germany. Isami Doi (1903-1965), who was born in Hawaii, was arguably his most impressive student at Columbia. Doi is now regarded as one of the most prominent artists hailing from Hawaii. Heckman became an active member and officer of the Keramic Society and Design Guild of New York in the 1920s as part of his early commercial art career. The Society's mission was to share knowledge and showcase textile and ceramic design exhibits. In 1922, Heckman married Florence Hardman, a concert violinist. Mrs. Heckman's concert schedule during the 1920s kept Albert and Florence Heckman apart for a significant portion of the time, but they spent what little time they had together designing and building their Woodstock, New York, summer house and grounds. A small house and an acre of surrounding land on Overlook Mountain, just behind the village of Woodstock, were purchased by Albert and Florence Heckman at the time of their marriage. Their Woodstock home, with its connections, friendships, and memories, became a central part of their lives over the years, even though they had an apartment in New York City. Heckman's main artistic focus shifted to the house on Overlook Mountain and the nearby towns and villages, Kingston, Eddyville, and Glasco. After returning from the Leipzig Institute of Graphic Arts in 1930, Mr. Heckman joined Hunter College as an assistant professor of art. He worked there for almost thirty years, retiring in 1956. Throughout his tenure at Hunter, Mr. Heckman and his spouse spent the summers at their Woodstock residence and the winters in New York City. They were regular and well-known guests at the opera and art galleries in New York. Following his retirement in 1956, the Heckmans settled in Woodstock permanently, with occasional trips to Florida or Europe during the fall and winter. Mr. Heckman's close friends and artistic career were always connected to Woodstock or New York City. He joined the Woodstock art group early on and was greatly influenced by artists like Paul and Caroline Rohland, Emil Ganso, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Andre Ruellan, and her husband, Jack...

Located in Soquel, CA
Urban Landscape "Hamms Brewery Blue" Building in San Francisco Oil on Canvas 1981 Bold Urban landscape featuring the TMG redesigned of the former Hamm's Brewery building by William (Bill) Jefferson (American, B-1956). Currently a New York artist. Image, 55"H x 42.5"W x 2.5"D After graduating from college ( BA in history), I moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in the arts. Again, I never stopped. San Francisco in the ‘70’s was a magical place, and was the perfect canvas for me. I began drawing, all of the time, everywhere. By 1980 I had begun translating my drawings into paintings. By the time I moved to New York in 2007, my art had matured and my purpose was clear: I mean for my paintings to give the viewer a sense of calm, and wonder at the beauty of the world around us, and to serve as an antidote to the pain and suffering we all experience in life. William Jefferson...
