This artwork Titled "Bold Autumn Forest" 1989, is a colors Ilfochrome Photograph by noted photographer Christopher Burkett, b.1951. It is signed on the first matting at the lower right corner by the artist. also signed, titled and dated on the back. The photograph size is 20 x 24 inches, apparent part is 18 x 23 inches, framed size is 30.25 x 34.25 inches. Custom framed in a gold metal frame, with off white matting. It is in excellent condition, the colors are fresh and bright. About the artist: Christopher Burkett (born 1951) is an American landscape photographer, known not only for his large format photography of woodlands but also as a craftsman who "makes every print himself with a skill that is unsurpassed. Photography Burkett requires "absolute material accuracy" and has since 1980 evolved into one of the greatest color printers in the history of the medium, creating Cibachrome color prints of unprecedented dimension (40x50) from his brilliant 8x10 transparencies. "The best of Christopher Burkett's photographs have an almost mystical sense of connection to us, one that cannot fully be conveyed through words or reproductions. "All of Christopher's photographs, is able to act across distance, to illumine a viewer standing fifty or a hundred feet away, to transcend the physical dimensions of its frame. Burkett is also a former brother in an Orthodox Christian religious order who, Vincent Rossi writes, has "transformed photographic technique into a spiritual endeavor. On April 15, 2018 the PBS national network broadcast a segment about Burkett on NewsHour Weekend. The program states: "There are some photographers who are convinced that the old ways are worth preserving. One of these is Oregon Photographer Christopher Burkett, who works slowly and patiently to create some of the highest resolution photographs every made. Christopher Burkett has been photographing the American landscape for over four decades." "He and his wife, Ruth, have lugged their camera gear across all 50 states." "He says he want to make both the physical and the ethereal accessible." "Light and luminosity are critical elements of Burkett's work." "For Burkett, photography is not just an artistic but a spiritual experience that's informed by his religious faith." And Burkett says: "...going out and photographing is one thing, but spending time bringing the light out of these images to share them with other people is really what it’s all about. Reviews and awards[ Burkett's books and exhibits have been reviewed in the Bloomsbury Review, San Diego Union-Tribune, The Washington Post, and Book Reader; an interview with Burkett was published in View Camera magazine. Intimate paintings represented by unmade beds and tossed sheets, absent of any human evidence, on intentionally blank, somewhat rough backgrounds. The empty bed in these paintings represents a place for grief, isolation or healing. As such, the work speaks to our shared feeling of grief, with the understanding that while we all suffer in our individual ways, suffering is universal. Source material for this work are photographs the artist has both taken and found, and the intimate size of the paintings references the intimate nature of the subject matter. The backgrounds of the paintings are repeatedly painted and sanded, to create a frame and backdrop for the bedding that is flat, yet rough with work and time. The bedding itself is seen from different perspectives, but still indicates a scene of desolation and despair. While the series began in the fall of 2016, recent events—including the pandemic—have provided a new dimension to the work and have compelled Serpick to consider the themes in light of these events. Our forced isolation and the challenges it has brought to our physical and mental health provides an additional shared experience from which to consider grief and eventual healing. Biography Stephanie Serpick is a painter whose work explores themes of isolation, grief, and healing. Her work has been shown in various exhibitions in the U.S. and internationally, and she is a fellow at several residencies, most notably at the Florence Trust Studios in London, MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, and the Vermont Studio Center, where she was awarded a full fellowship and stipend to attend. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Sweet Lorraine Gallery in Brooklyn, the College of Southern Nevada, and a two-person exhibition at The Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute at the Museum of Art at Pratt in Utica NY...

Ross Tamlin's unique photorealistic compositions merge traditional painting methods with modern industrial techniques to create captivating works of art. Using layers of oil and enamel paint, Tamlin creates an illusion of corrugation that adds depth and texture to his pieces. His use of industrial imagery and found objects is a nod to contemporary art, while his bold color palette and incorporation of text is a nod to the Pop Art movement. Tamlin is a full-time artist living in Kyogle, New South Wales, Australia.
