Set of Copper Trays by Brazilian Designer Brunno Jahara
By Brunno Jahara
Located in New York, NY
Stacks for St. James, the collection is based on the company’s tradition of making silver-plated objects and is formed by a series of trays, candlesticks, boxes and buckets to serve snacks and drinks or to be used as centerpieces to place fruits and plants. The designer was able to build the collection using shapes from other pieces and turning them into stacks of different uses and sizes. The first pieces were made in copper and later new versions in brass and nickel will be available this year. To Jahara, the simple, pure and clean lines of the objects were to enhance the basic geometric forms such as the circle, making it appear in handles to use for several functions. It’s a new way to interpret the tradition of the factory that works for more than 40 years in the luxury field by keeping the essential to it, the function and quality materials. Copper Tray with Handle...

The upholstery was chosen considering the contemporary proposal of the piece. The sofa features a comfortable seat, clean design, and freedom of user movements and is constructed in a frame with metal rods elegantly positioned to give strength to the piece, a common trait of designers. The buttons velvet coated between seat and backs were used, by the designers, for an excellent velvet finish, and the restoration proposal was to maintain them.
