Sculptural, functional, and comfortable! The Series 7 chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1955 and is an icon in modern furniture history. The Fritz Hansen website states that the chair is made from 9 layers of pressure molded veneer for strength, flexibility, and durability despite its slender form. This one was made in 1993 and it is comprised of a molded black painted plywood seat which is uniquely shaped for the human body. Ergonomically enjoyable!! It has the chrome four-star leg base with chromed hooded wheel casters. It’s incredibly versatile, with unique character and unmatchable comfort. It is manually adjustable in height, and it swivels! It will make the perfect office or desk chair in your Scandinavian Modern or mid-century modern style home office or den.
Fritz Hansen was founded in 1872, when Fritz Hansen, a Danish carpenter, founded his own furniture company and in 1915 introduced his first chair in steam bent wood. In 1934, Fritz Hansen began his collaboration with Arne Jacobsen resulting in some of the famous, classic icons of Danish Design including the “Ant” in 1952, the Series 7 in 1955, the Grand Prix in 1957, the Swan in 1958, and the Egg in 1958. Other famous collaborations have resulted in Piet Hein’s super-elliptical table from 1968 and in 1982 Fritz Hansen acquired the rights to a major part of Poul Kjaerholm’s furniture collection. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use & wear. The sprung cushions will need new padding & the original brown nubby fabric has no rips or holes but has faded and will need reupholstered, it has been priced accordingly. Has a couple of repairs where the screws were put all the way through leg assembly at some point in their lives. We have repaired & replaced hardware to match. One hole was plugged, and the plug is still slightly visible. It has been sanded, stained & a teak oil finish. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Lovely Mid-Century Modern high back rocker comprised of an oak frame and the original nubby rust and gold chenille fabric. Handsome streamline modern, Mid-Century Modern, or Industrial style royal blue & vinyl or faux leather and chrome chaise or daybed with adjustable head or back rest. Wonderful condition keeping in mind that this is vintage & not new so there will be signs of wear & use. The beautiful original royal blue vinyl has some nicks, holes, & dings, specifically on the four corners, which have been repaired. One of the chrome legs has pitting that has been polished & touched up. And there is a small 1/4 “cut” in the main pad area which we felt was better left alone. Some may want to recover but repairs are minor & look great, so it is priced accordingly. Please see photos & zoom in for details. We attempt to portray imperfections. Fabulous set of five Mid-Century Modern Planner Group style #1534 dining chairs by Paul McCobb for Winchendon. Comprised of a dark walnut finished maple. They have been newly upholstered at some point in their recent past in a brown background fabric with chenille squiggly undulating lines in gold and turquoise or teal. Beautiful condition with age-appropriate wear as you would expect with vintage pieces. Two of the chair backs do have small nicks. One has been repaired. All chairs have been re-glued. We have used restore-a-finish on the original finish to bring back its original shine. Please see photos. Circa 1949-1964.

KEM Weber (1889-1963) was a German-born architect and furniture designer. His birth name was Karl Emanuel Martin Weber but in 1914, he changed his first name to a less German sounding, 'Kem' when he became stranded in the USA after the outbreak of the First World War. Such an awesome bar stool by A. Brandt!! This stool is comprised of rustic solid ranch oak with an Acorn Brown finish that is signature to A. Brandt Company furniture. Acorn Brown was made by applying an oil stain before sealing the wood. After lacquering, Acorn Brown wax was applied. And this stool wears it well!! It’s just what you need at the end of your rustic, western, or industrial style bar, but it would also be perfect at a tall game or bar style table. This fabulous stool has a solid ranch oak base with an iron ring stretcher joining its four splayed legs which makes it extra sturdy and mirrors the sultry dark brown round and rotating cushioned vinyl seat. Gorgeous Mid-Century Modern Grand Haven dining or accent chair designed by Jack Van Der Molen for Jamestown Lounge Company. Beautiful vintage condition. We had the foam replaced in the original cushion, but it still wears its original blue hopsack fabric. We have deep cleaned the fabric but there are still hints of staining. Hard to find but it is there. I would not be afraid to use it however. The original webbing has been replaced and the wood has been restored to its original glory. However, you may still find small imperfections as it is a vintage piece. Please see photos, circa 1950s-1960s

Jack Van der Molen is an award-winning gifted American designer of the mid-20th century. He was born in 1922 and is a man of many accomplishment and talents. He was awarded five Battle Stars for his actions during WWII, is a fabulous golfer winning many tournaments, and an excellent watercolorist with work in private and commercial collections. He was educated at Kendall School Design in Grand Rapids. His furniture design work successfully combines organic details with clean lines. He designed several lines of furniture for Jamestown Lounge Co. including “Americana Casual”. He even won the coveted House Beautiful Magazine “Best Chair of the Year” award for his “Grand Haven” chair for Jamestown in 1959. In addition, he collaborated with Dupont initiating use of polyester fiber in upholstered furniture. His 61 years designing for top manufacturers is celebrated by how desirable and sought after his designs are today.
Jamestown Lounge Company of Jamestown, New York was founded in 1888 by four partners. They first manufactured, obviously from their name, only lounges. These were long armless, backless, upholstered pieces with a hard roll at one end…what my mother always called a “fainting couch”. Handsome pair of walnut tone wood accent or dining armchairs with black wool-like fabric upholstery. They are in wonderful original condition. The fabric is nearly perfect. The walnut stained, we believe ash, wood does show signs of age and use but nothing outstanding. There is wear to the stain on the arms where hands have rubbed. We call this patina. Handsome Mid-Century Modern coral vinyl faux leather and aluminum leg chaise lounge or day bed. It is in good vintage condition. The beautiful original coral colored vinyl has many nicks, holes, dings, and tears. But we have repaired a few and if you do not need perfection you could get by using this great colored upholstery. One large repair is in the middle of the head pad. Please see photos. However, we know most will want to reupholster, so it is priced accordingly. Circa mid-20th century.
I am looking into the future and I can just imagine you lounging upon this lovely chaise while sipping a cocktail from your mid-century modern bar cart! Or maybe that’s me? No. I think it is you. Well I assume that means you are going to make this fabulous piece yours. It is comprised of four-square tubular brushed aluminum legs which hold it to padded chaise lounge body. It is currently wearing its original gorgeous coral colored vinyl faux leather with nail head detail. Unfortunately, this covering has seen lots of use and you will most likely want to recover. However, we have repaired a few of the boo boos and if you can live with them for a bit you could enjoy this luscious color for a while. It will be fabulous in your mid-century modern home or industrial loft no matter where it is used. We did not find any tags or maker’s name and do not know exactly how this piece started its life. But we can visualize it learning lots of secrets in a psychiatrist office or offering a seat to young starlets in the director’s office. Whatever secrets it holds we know you are smitten as we are. Make it yours!

It is hard to say who designed and produced this fabulously gorgeous and simple streamline Mid-Century Modern style sofa first. Was is Edward Wormley for Dunbar? Was it Harvey Probber or Florence Knoll? Or, did Taylor Chair Company, the maker of this particular love seat, actually make their rendition first? Does it matter? You will love the lines and materials used in this two-seat love seat Lawson shape sofa with a tight back and two loose seat cushions. It is covered in a very nice and natural looking black faux leather vinyl. So close to the real thing its is hard to tell the difference. And sets on a walnut Parsons’ style base. Simple but very handsome.

Handsome and iconic Scandinavian Modern Scissor lounge chair designed by Folke Ohlsson for DUX. It is in wonderful vintage condition. The wood frame has been restored; however, there may still be small signs of age. We did have to fill some rather deep flaws in the wood. The straps have been replaced with appropriate new straps. And the foam cushions are new and newly upholstered. Please see photos, circa 1950s.
Now you can get all your DUX in a row!! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. This is the iconic and beautiful Scissor Lounge Chair. It was designed by Folke Ohlsson for his company DUX, Inc. purportedly in 1949. It is so incredible in its simplicity and when viewed from the side you can see immediately where it got its name. We are very excited about this wonderful chair here at our shop. Its walnut frame has been completely restored and we have replaced all the straps, which were beyond repair, with proper strapping. Plus, we have made new foam cushions and upholstered them in a fabulous black and taupe horizontal stripe fabric.

This club chair with its Lawson styling and loose cushions is really comfy; plus, it is held up off the floor with a fabulous base.
