A Japanese Imari porcelain plate from the 19th century, with hand-painted blue and white foliage, tree and architecture décor. Created in Japan during the 19th century, this Imari porcelain plate features a delicate blue and white décor divided into four distinct sections: lucious foliage, blooming trees, large leaves and a traditional house with mountains in the background occupy the composition beautifully. Light blue color alternates with darker touches, thus creating a lively sense of depth. Imari is a style of porcelain named after the Japanese port from which it was shipped from, beginning in the late 17th century. The plate has a green mark on its back. Bordered by a scalloped edge, this 19th century Japanese hand-painted Imari porcelain plate will make for a lovely addition to any home décor, perhaps placed on a commode, side table or console! Japanese, Contemporary Blue Pink Porcelain Match Tea Cup by Master Artist, 2
Located in Takarazuka, JP
Exquisite contemporary Japanese decorative porcelain match tea cup, extremely intricately hand painted in various shades of blue and pink set against a stunningly shaped ovoid porcelain body in blue, to create a mesmerizing surface. It is lavishly decorated with intricate gold details and is a masterpiece by highly acclaimed master porcelain artist in traditional patterns of the Imari-Arita region of Japan and the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for his extraordinary porcelain work and his unique gold and platinum work on porcelain. The artist's profile is available upon request.
Hydrangeas with intricate details decorate the surface of this remarkable cup and continue to decorate the inside of the cup.
"Fired-on gold,” this artist's signature style, highlights unique techniques for incorporating gold and platinum into the hand painting and multiple firing processes that yield a stunningly opulent look. The polychrome overglaze is fired at 800 degrees, followed by the application of gold and platinum that are fired at slightly lower temperature to maintain the luster of the precious metals. As a result, a single piece may undergo as many as 5-10 firings. The artist's profile is available upon request.

________________________________________________________________________________
Experts of Fine Arts assess Michael Powolny's work nowadays as result of activity of one the most important ceramics sculptors / designers of Austrian Art Nouveau. Most of Powolny's successors were strongly under his sway since Powolny had left 'large steps' in Viennese Art of Ceramics.
Excellent condition.
____________________________________________________________________________________
About Michael Powolny (Sculptor).
As both a designer and a teacher, the Austrian ceramicist and glassware designer Michael Powolny was an important figure in the development of modernist aesthetics in Vienna at the turn of the 20th century. His romantic sculptural pottery figures embrace the lush, dynamic stylings of Gustav Klimt and other progressive artists, while his functional pieces — such as glass bowls and vases — employ the simple linear and geometric ornamentation that marked the work of Josef Hoffmann and other members of the Wiener Werkstätte Community of designers and craftsmen.
Powolny received classical training in ceramics from his father, a potter, and at the Vienna School of Applied Arts, but later joined in the modernizing movement in the Austrian arts at the close of the 19th century. In 1897, Klimt, Hoffman, Koloman Moser and other artists and architects founded the Vienna Secession, a group that fought for freedom of expression against the city’s
tradition-bound arts establishment. Powolny’s work reflects the changing times. He used classical figures in his ceramics — female nudes, cherubs — yet would dress them in modern ornament such as garlands of abstract, geometric flowers. Pieces from Powolny’s ceramics company were sold through the Wiener Werkstätte (Viennese Workshops) founded by Hoffmann and Moser, and Hoffman later hired Powolny to create ceramic ornamentation for his architectural masterpiece, the Palais Stoclet in Brussels.
Powolny would go on to design glassware that combines elegant, tapering forms with precise linear decoration. His most influential work may have come as a professor at the School of Applied Arts, where he taught both Lucie Rie,
the great Austrian-British modernist ceramicist, and the American potter Viktor Schreckengost, creator of the “Jazz Bowl...

Ancient Rare Kashan Lustre Bowl 12th Century Islamic Pottery Art
Located in Vero Beach, FL
Ancient rare Kashan lustre bowl 12th century Islamic pottery art.
This beautifully decorated and well cared for lustre bowl is one of the few examples still in existence. It was made in Kashan in the 12th-early 13th century, Seljuk- Atabeg period. Kashan was an important center for the production of high quality pottery and tiles. Lustre ware was among the most innovative development of Kashan potters, who mixed silver sulfides and copper oxides to create a shiny copper toned metallic sheen on the surface of glazed earthenware bowls, plates and vessels. It was an expensive and unpredictable lustre technique.
Kashan lustreware pottery can be found in the collections of the British Museum and the Hermitage Museum. Literature: O. Pancaroglu. Perpetual Glory. Medieval Islamic Ceramics...
