Excellent Art Nouveau Vase: Green-blue-grey marbled body in the shape of an upright sea snail with a four-pointed base and surrounding seaweed relief, with a sculptural Art Nouveau beauty in white porcelain sitting on the shoulder, semi-nude with a split tail, gold decoration, engraved artist's signature ‘Hiller’ on the front of the vase base. Manufactory: Bauer Rosenthal & Co / Kronach / Bavaria / Germany Dating: Manufactured 1898-1900 Material and technique: Porcelain / chinaware / glazed Design: MAX HILLER (1869 - 1954) Sculptor, studied at the School of Applied Arts in Vienna, freelance artist from 1895, director of the School of Applied Arts in Geislingen from 1921 to 1935, represented at exhibitions in Leipzig, Berlin and St. Louis (World's Fair) since 1901.
