About the Item

Silver set of three oblong bowls / centrepieces with original cobalt blue glass liners. Art Nouveau / made circa 1900-1905 Stunningly manufactured set of three silver bowls: One of large dimension, the other two of smaller size / they have reticulated walls which consist of vertical bands. Additionally, there are pendants of laurel leaves attached to lockets existing - all of them hung up at outer walls. Additionally, there are movable rings of laurel leaves attached to bowls, having function of handholds. Finally, the bowls are based on oblong raised feet having edges decorated with pendants of laurel leaves, too. A very special feature are the original cobalt blue glass liners with smooth surface, perfectly matching the silver receptacles. Made circa 1900-1905 Hallmarked: SILVER 800 (= branded by AUSTRIAN / VIENNESE so-said DIANA's HEAD MARK 1872 - 1922) Master's mark visible: Silversmith Karl Bubeniczek (active in Vienna 1894 - 1921) Bibliography: Waltraud Neuwirth, Wiener Gold- und Silberschmiede und ihre Punzen 1867-1922 (= Viennese Gold - and Silversmiths and their Hallmarks 1867-1922), Lexicon A-K, Vienna 1976, page 130 Size: Length 32.0 cm / 12.59 inches for the larger one Length 20.5 cm / 08.07 inches for the pair Height 11.00 cm / 04.33 inches Depth 12.00 cm / 04.72 inches and 19.0 cm / 7.48 inches Silver weight: 1.780 grams / 62.65 oz / 57.23 troy ounces Very good condition (cleaned and polished / one glass liner has a tiny chip at edge, it is barely visible).
