Vintage Silver Moka Set by William Hutton & Sons, England, Early 1900

About the Item

Silver plated Moka set is an original decorative group of objects realized in the first half of the 20th century. Created and realized by William Hutton & Sons. Original silver plated metal. The set includes: one coffee pot (H. 17.5 cm), one sugar bowl and one cream server. The label of the factory is impressed on the base. Mint conditions. Beautiful moka coffee set realized in silver plate metal with beautiful decorated surfaces. Each structured bulbous wall presents a squared tapered mouth, and the pot has movable hanger handle and lid. The set was realized by William Hutton & Sons, Sheffield. The company was founded in Birmingham in 1800 by William Hutton and in 1832 it was transferred to Sheffield. After the death of the founder, his son William Carr Hutton continued the activity in the style of his father. The company was transformed into William Hutton & Sons until 1864 and in 1893-1930 into William Hutton & Sons Ltd. The company used the Cross brand arrows (6 or 8 arrows) after the acquisition of Creswick & Co (circa 1900). In 1930, the company went bankrupt and was absorbed by James Dixon & Sons.
