This is a stunning antique English Victorian silver plated nut dish or sweet dish, by the silversmith William Hutton & Sons of Sheffield with the Crossarrows mark and dated C 1880. It features a fabulous embossed body and has a squirell eating a nut whilst balanced on one end, the body is raised on a round pedestal base. Add a beautiful touch to your next dining experience. This is an exceptional neoclassical antique English Victorian silver plated tray by the renowned silversmith William Hutton & Sons circa 1890 in date. This large oval silver plated tray features fabulous engraved anthemion, c-scrolls, foliate and floral decoration, surrounded by moulded borders decorated with anthemion. A fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver mounted, cut glass claret jug, an addition to our wine and drink related collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver and cut glass claret jug has a circular rounded, globular form. The cylindrical neck is fitted with a fine and impressive plain sterling silver hallmarked mount with the original hallmarked flat hinged cover. The cover is surmounted with a simplified tri-lobed silver thumb piece. This antique claret jug is fitted with a plain angular rounded handle with scrolling upper terminal and featuring a leaf ornamentation to the lower portion. The glass body of the jug is embellished with a cut glass swirl design to either side, conjoining with undulating bands to the circumference. The body of this impressive claret jug is further ornamented with a star cut base. Condition This antique sterling silver and glass claret jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition. The glass is in perfect condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks to the cover have wear due to their location and in keeping with age; the maker's mark to the cover and the mount are not deeply struck but remain legible.
