About the Item

Rare set of two "Bilobo" Pendant lamps by Tobia Scarpa for Flos. Pendant lamps, giving diffused light, fitted with metalized glass diffuser. Anodized aluminium support with a spring loaded device for removal of the glass diffuser. "The model come from the reworking of the elementary lamps designed in the Bauhaus worshop and previously used in situations of mass production. The Scarpa's design concentrates on the attachment point of a shade to a metal cylinder. The tube, inserted almost without contact inside the glass shade, is a formally and technically effective solution with respect to the usual assembly with bolts. The use of glass laden with bits of metal or silica adds a vibrant character to the light" (Courtesy Afra e Tobia Scarpa Architects - Electa 2009)
