About the Item

Shogun Wall Sconce by Mario Botta for Artemide Italy, 1986 comes with original instructions ! One ‘Shogun’ wall sconce designed by Swiss Architect Mario Botta for Artemide in 1986. This iconic sconce features an adjustable perforated enameled metal shade, which provides beautiful ambient lighting and mesmerizing shadow effects when illuminated. During the 1970s, Mario Botta rose to prominence for his groundbreaking geometric designs and seemingly simple forms. In the 1980s, Botta solidified his reputation as a master of postmodern design, not only in architecture but also in furniture. His postmodern aesthetic is evident in the lights he designed for Artemide. Condition: Good overall vintage condition with some minor signs of wear at the metal base. (Please check out all pictures) Maker’s and Designers mark present on the mounting plate. Works with one standard light bulb.
