About the Item

An outstanding antique Kazak with a distinctive field design of double elongated lozenges in rust color flanking a long and narrow rectangular box in green with eleven squares of stars. At the top and bottom of these three iconic motifs there appear an indigo blue field decorated with many geometric ornaments of various colors, four of which are "Tarantula" designs with breathtaking checker motifs. The whole rug is then surrounded by a very handsome ivory border. Attributed to Lambalo Kazak this group of caucasians are rather rare and few of them ever appear in the market. This particular Kazak is in absolutely excellent condition with very minor reweave and superb wool with lovely sheen. All dyes used to make this Kazak are without a doubt organic, all sides and ends are very original and untouched. This is a masterpiece of visual woven art.
