20th Century White Floreal Oushak Rug from Circa 1950 € 15.000

About the Item

In Oushak, large carpets were knotted since the 15th century, and in the Ottoman era, these carpets were exported by Venetian merchants throughout Europe. Also called carpets of the lords, the Ushak were large and tailor-made for important clients. Measures: Cm. 475 x 380. Ours is a highly decorative rug characterized by thick and soft wool. The decoration is inspired by tradition; pastel tones and light colours were the most sought after for furnishings in the 1960s. Without a central medallion, the full-field pattern makes it easy to insert this rug into any decor.
