About the Item

This iconic Mid-Century Modern 2291-C lounge chair was realized by the legendary designer Adrian Pearsall in the United States circa 1960. It features subtly angular front legs and dramatically arched hind legs; a sculptural paddle arm rest embellishment on the top of each open rhombus form- all in a beautiful hand rubbed walnut. The gently tapered back has "wing" detailing at its apex with gently rounded corners, as well as subtly convex seat- all newly reupholstered in a textural cafe au lait upholstery. Full of striking geometries, verve and dynamism, this piece showcases the many reasons that Pearsall remains one of the most celebrated and influential designers of the 20th century. Its clean modernist lines and refined color palate make this piece as versatile as it is stunning, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. It has been newly reupholstered and restored to mint condition. American, circa 1960 Dimensions: Height: 29" x Width: 28" x Depth: 30" Seat Height: 17.5".
