About the Item

Restored 1950s Halabala Armchair in Handwoven Thai Silk This iconic and exceptionally comfortable armchair from the 1950s has undergone a full restoration, including re-lacquered armrests and traditional upholstery with coil springs. It is now dressed in luxurious Thai silk. Our textiles are sourced from remote regions of Thailand, where they are still hand-dyed with plant-based pigments and woven on small wooden looms—just as they were over a century ago. Each fabric is unique, and slight irregularities are part of its handmade character and charm. We celebrate the soft luster of the silk and its distinctive texture. The matching stools are crafted in our own workshop. At 14.2 inches in height, they work beautifully as footstools or compact side tables. For greater durability, all fabrics are subtly reinforced from the reverse side—without altering their natural look and feel. This piece is intended for indoor use and should be protected from direct sunlight. Dimensions: Armchair: H 33,5 in × W 26 in × D 33.9 in – Seat height 16.5 in Stool: H 14.2 in × W 18.1 in × D 18.1
