Pierre Jeanneret Library Chairs PJ-SI-51-A

About the Item

A pair of library chairs originally made for the University of Punjab Library in Chandigarh in 1955, but later were used in a variety of buildings in the new capital city. Made of teak and cane, the static x-legs and banner backrest create a simple yet striking design. The markings on the back indicate their last designated use and can be removed if requested (although we prefer to keep it to show character). Small chips and scratches can be found throughout each piece, and are considered a part of its authenticity and history. Please note that all pieces are original, and not made from combined pieces of other unrestorable Jeanneret furniture. Original unrestored pictures of each piece is available if requested. We try to preserve as much of the original patina during the restoration process.
