Giacomo Cometti, a Sophisticated Anglo-Japanese Style Armchair of Angular Design
Located in London, GB
Giacomo Cometti. A sophisticated Anglo-Japanese style armchair of angular design. Professionally upholstered in a high quality Morris & Co, strawberry thief fabric. Giacomo Cometti 1863–1938. He was born in Turin the son of a marble sculptor. After his father died an early death Giacomo went to work with the sculptor Odoardo Tabacchi and sculptor and cabinetmaker Davide Calandra and began attending the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, where he graduated in 1891. He then became a pupil of sculptor Leonardo Bistolfi, which grew into a partnership that lasted for over 20 years.
